My favorite sushi place by far. Fish is always fresh and tasty, however with a price point to match if you're feeding multiple sushi goers. Still, excellent location for some good ol raw sea food

The food was decent, but the ambient there was awful. Right after entering, another customer accosted me with the most random comments I heard to date, and the restaurant staffs did absolutely nothing. Though the owners appear to be older, there are far more Asian restaurants with older owners who chose and try to serve in a calmer manner. Though the experience is a couple of years old, in the times before, it wasn't impressive either. I went in with an English class classmate from high school, and he was grimacing to sound polite. Since then, I learn to stick to cooked food with warm people serving them.

Service was super slow but sushi was good

I've been going to Niwano Hana for many years, and the food is always excellent. They offer several unique, creative options, and everything is fresh and delicious. If you're in Rockville, please stop by and give them a try.

If you're in the area and you want good sushi, this is the place to go. I have several sushi spots around my way but I'd rather drive 20 minutes to come here instead. The people are friendly and the food is good. It's a small comfy restaurant so big groups aren't ideal. But it's great for those quick dates or just going out with a couple of friends.

You must get the spicy scallops. Yes in deed its delicious....

I’m a big fan of Japanese food so I’ve been to quite a few. This without a doubt is the WORST Japanese restaurant I’ve ever tried. The fish tasted old, as did the rice! The eel sauce was also overly gummy and sticky sweet like artificial pancake syrup. I couldn’t believe it, especially for the high price!

Customer service from the door and beyond was great. I was going to order to go but decided to stay because they were so nice. The sushi was great and they were willing to tempura select rolls, of which I appreciated greatly! I'll be back!

Have you ever been to the large hibachi places? Well this is the same or better quality food. The salad which is my favorite at the hibachi restaurants was better here! The staff is friendly and they suggested meals that were delicious and had a versatility of flavors.

It was my first time here I had an great experience. And the place has been opening for 34 years .

This place never fails to deliver. They have fantastic dishes for fair rates, there are no long waits even when they are busy.

Love this place!! Fresh, quality ingredients, amazing rolls, and such warm friendly service! Highly recommend the Niwano hana roll, seared salmon roll, alligator roll, bamboo roll, seafood udon and tonkatsu! The tonkatsu is so juicy and crispy - it's just done so well! Much better than Temari's which is too dry to me.

Usually go there for lunch. Quick, moderately priced, very good sushi, pleasant environment. In addition to regular sushi, I highly recommend spicy scallops. If you are in spicy food, sushi bar salad is a good starter.

I've dined at Niwano Hana since 1999 and they were the best sushi in town. Their spicy scallop rolls were out of this world and could not find anything similar in NOVA. When I moved to Tysons, I still drove to Rockville for sushi but the excellent food quality of noughties has disappeared. They are still good but the quality has gone down quite a bit. The same dish that they had for over 10 year doesn't taste or look the same. Quite disappointed with new management or new owner...however its still a good sushi place to go if you are in Rockville.

Had a very good experience here with my girlfriend. The food arrives quickly and the service is just great. Prices are reasonable.

Service was good, foods were good but prices were high for quantity of foods. Servings are smaller than expected.

This is my fav Japanese restaurant. I love thier Seared Salmon roll. A free salad or soup comes with a meal. The salad dressing is amazing..you gotta try. Love this place.

Decent seafood Udon with a good amount of fresh seafood in a boiling hot bowl; sushi is well prepared with a touch too much wasabi address to the nigiri between the fish and rice. Good service and tidy atmosphere.

Had my first visit to Niwano Hana today and I'm excited to go back. I went with a larger group (of 9) and the server was incredibly accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Chirashi Sushi Lunch and it was both delicious and visually appealing. Though I was also kinda jealously eyeing the bento boxes that my coworkers got. Everything seems to be if good quality and the ambience is really welcoming, too. Plenty of maneki neko!

We've been going here for years because that have some of the best sushi in the area. The staff always greet everyone that comes in and they are always very friendly and helpful.

The best sushi. Fresh and always delicious. They close between lunch and dinner so check the times, but worth the visit if you are in Rockville. Small and quant place that is relaxing.

We enjoy going out. Yesterday we came to this excellent place which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely time there with fine meal and a well-trained stuff and a talented chef. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly come back soon. We highly recommend.

My family has been dining here for about 13 years and the food has been consistently good. Not once have we had a disappointing meal. The service is pleasant and efficient and the sushi always tastes fresh.

This place has been consistently good since I've been coming here the past year. I've never been disappointed by the quality of food or service. My favorite place in the area to get a bento box (called dinner box here). Worth the price and drive.

Love this place. They have the most inventive sushi. They have great vegatarian options if you're pregnant or can't eat raw fish for any other reason. Super tasty and really good quality. I had a tofu roll, green bean tempura roll and sweet potato tempura roll.

Great quality. Very fresh. Friendly service. Clean atmosphere. Overall a great experience. And the food was very good. I had never had fried (tempura) pumpkin or yams but it really good. The salmon was great very light not drenched in sauce because I try not consume a lot of soy due to its ties with estrogen receptors. The fresh fruit was a different take also. The sushi was pretty good too but I willSay the ginger was very very fresh. O and the Saki was on point n official
